The Rolex Milgauss was never the brand's most popular watch, but it has a very special place in its history. Launched in 1954, it was the first Rolex watch to shield a movement from magnetic fields. At the time, most watches were resistant to about 50 to 100 gauss – about the strength of a refrigerator magnet
