This vintage gold-plated Cartier Tank Must is a highly affordable example of a genuine Cartier tank. The dial is in a soft ivory tone, featuring black Roman numerals, a railroad minute track, and blued steel sword hands. The crown is beaded and set with a synthetic blue cabochon.. The strap is leather with a classic Cartier buckle.

Key Brand Information

The Must de Cartier line was introduced in the 1970s as a more accessible expression of the iconic Tank. Rather than using solid gold, Cartier employed silver (925) base cases plated in gold (vermeil) to retain premium appeal while lowering cost.  The Tank design itself dates to 1917, conceived by Louis Cartier with inspiration drawn from the shape of WWI tanks — its clean geometry, parallel brancards, Roman numerals and sword hands remain defining features. Over time the vintage Must Tanks have become increasingly sought after by collectors due to their elegance - and affordability compared to solid gold Tanks.
