The Watch

The Montblanc 1858 Automatic is inspired by vintage mountaineering instruments and the golden age of exploration. Housed in a 40 mm stainless steel and bronze case, this model features a clean, highly legible black dial. Luminous 'cathedral' hands and large Arabic numerals provide both excellent readability and a distinctive retro appearance. The accurate and durable Swiss automatic movement provides approximately 38 hours of power reserve. The watch is water resistant to 100 metres and is on a high-quality brown Montblanc leather strap. The case back shows a deep and detailed engraving of the Mont Blanc mountain, a compass rose and crossed ice picks.

Dimensions: 40mm wide, 12mm thick, 49mm lug-to-lug.

All items have been inspected for authenticity, and are guaranteed as such. As this is a pre-owned watch, signs of wear consistent with age and previous use should be expected. Buyers of watches should also recognise that maintenance and treatment appropriate to the watch in question are required to protect time-keeping and condition. There is a 6 month function guarantee for watches costing £1000 or more. Water resistance is not guaranteed; even watches originally waterproof may not be so, unless recently sealed and pressure-tested.
