Key Brand Information
The Must de Cartier line was introduced in the 1970s as a more accessible expression of the iconic Tank. Rather than using solid gold, Cartier employed silver (925) base cases plated in gold (vermeil) to retain premium appeal while lowering cost. The Tank design itself dates to 1917, conceived by Louis Cartier with inspiration drawn from the shape of WWI tanks — its clean geometry, parallel brancards, Roman numerals and sword hands remain defining features. Over time the vintage Must Tanks have become increasingly sought after by collectors due to their elegance - and affordability compared to solid gold Tanks.
Authenticity and Condition
All items have been carefully inspected for authenticity. As this is a second-hand vintage timepiece, the watch may show signs of wear — some thinning of the gold plating, light surface scratches, or minor patina on the dial or case edges. Buyers should expect that vintage watches often require delicate, periodic maintenance (e.g. re-plating, gasket replacement, movement servicing) to preserve both function and aesthetic integrity.
