The Watch

The 2020 Rolex Yacht-Master 40 reference 126655 is a luxurious and distinctive sports watch, combining Rolex’s professional sailing heritage with the warmth and prestige of solid 18ct Everose gold. Measuring 40mm in diameter, the Oyster case is paired with an intense black dial and Rolex’s innovative black Oysterflex bracelet, creating a striking contrast between precious metal and contemporary sporting design.

The black dial features highly legible hour markers and broad hands with Chromalight luminescence, together with a date display positioned at 3 o’clock beneath Rolex’s signature Cyclops magnifying lens. Surrounding the dial is a bidirectional 60-minute graduated bezel fitted with a matt black ceramic Cerachrom insert, featuring raised polished numerals and graduations.

The Oysterflex bracelet combines the appearance and comfort of a high-performance elastomer strap with flexible metal blades concealed within its construction for strength and durability. It is secured by an 18ct Everose gold folding Oysterlock safety clasp and features Rolex’s Glidelock extension system, allowing the bracelet to be finely adjusted for a comfortable fit.

Powering the reference 126655 is the Rolex calibre 3235, a self-winding mechanical movement offering approximately 70 hours of power reserve. The watch is fitted with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, Triplock screw-down winding crown and an Oyster case providing water resistance to 100 metres.

Buyers of watches should also recognise that maintenance and treatment appropriate to the watch in question are required to protect time-keeping and condition. There is a 6 month function guarantee for watches costing £1000 or more. Water resistance is not guaranteed; even watches originally waterproof may not be so, unless recently sealed and pressure-tested.
